How does it all work?

Quizzes at the end of each Module

Test your knowledge and find out your weak areas by completing the quiz at the end of the module. Make sure you are fully prepared for your final exam by completing the quizzes and the RePL practice exam. 

3 days virtual classroom 

Spend 3 days in our virtual classroom with our RPAS instructor to prepare you for your flight assessment and exam. You can access this once you complete your pre-course studies

Flight training and assessment

Spend a full day in the field with our RPAS instructor learning how to fly a DJI Phantom 3 standard Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS). This will prepare you for your flight assessment. You'll then conduct a flight assessment.

CASA Multirotor RePL Exam

You will sit a closed-book, 1.5 hour CASA exam in-person. You will need to successfully complete your Exam before progressing to Flight Training and Assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to read all of the Modules? 

No, it is not necessary to read all the modules, however, we do recommend you do as it will help you for your final exam. Feel free to complete the quiz at the end of each module to test your knowledge! 

Do I have to pass the online exam?

Yes, you have to pass the online exam to access the booking system. After training and certifying hundreds of students we have done studies and found that if you put the work into your study you will not only breeze through the virtual classroom sessions, you will easily pass the written exam.

Do you offer tutoring and training services?

Yes, at the end of each module you have the option to book a 1:1 session with one of our instructors to ask any questions you may have. You also have the option to book flight training before your flight assessment. 

What if I don't have a drone?

I Drone Train will provide the DJI Phantom 3 standard drones for your flight training and assessments. Please do not bring any drones with you but feel free to bring one of these if you have one.

How do I access the booking system?

The booking system is accessible once you have completed the pre-course study. This is unlocked after the final module which is module 9 and you have passed the online exam. This exam shows your trainer that you are ready for your course.
